• Kindly keep in mind that a passport is an extremely valuable document, so it should always be either in your own custody or in the custody of the person who possesses your authorisation. It must not be altered in any way. If lost or destroyed, a report should be made to the nearest Pakistani Mission and to the local police authorities.
  • It is against the law to give false information in the Application Form. Suppression of factual information, submission of false credentials and making unauthorized changes can lead to denial of issuing the passport.
  • It is a contravention of law to retain more than one valid Pakistani passport at a time. Once a new passport is issued, the other must be surrendered to the nearest Pakistani embassy.
  • Please remember to check the expiry date of the passport once it has been issued.
  • Make sure to always keep a copy of your passport handy and in a safe place. Issuance of a needed second passport may be delayed without it.
  • All documents written in a foreign language must be accompanied by an English translation from an authorized translator.
  • Please keep in mind that the issuing of a passport after application may take up to 28
  • All applications whether for passport or other notary services ought to be submitted by the individual him/her(self).

 

PASSPORT SERVICES

 

Renewal of Passport

A new manual passport can be issued:

  • If the current passport has expired. Once the new manual passport is issued, the previous passport is cancelled, but a valid visa remains.

 

Requirements

  1. Original passport
  2. Appropriate application form must be entirely filled in, signed by the applicant and submitted in person
  3. 4 recent passport-sized snapshots [5×3.5cm]
  4. Photocopies of relevant visa if current visa is still valid
  5. Photocopy of a Maltese Residence Card
  6. Photocopy of Pakistani CNIC

 

A manual passport can be issued for one time only with 1 year validity.  Within the 1 year validity of the passport, the passport holder must obtain a machine readable passport from the nearest Embassy or Pakistan.

EMERGENCY DOCUMENTS

 

In case of a lost or damaged passport which needs to be replaced immediately, application must be brought in by person.

 

Requirements

  1. Entirely filled out and signed new passport application form
  2. 4 recent passport sized photos [5×3.5cm]
  3. Police report regarding the lost/stolen passport attested by MOFA, Malta
  4. Photocopy of Pakistani ID Card
  5. Photocopy of the lost/damaged passport
  6. Proof of residence/ Maltese Residence Card

 

One-way travel Emergency Document

In cases of emergency passports, where no valid passport is available, only a document permitting outbound travel to Pakistan can be issued.

 

Requirements

  1. Proof of emergency (for example serious illness or death of immediate family member)
  2. Duly filled and signed application form
  3. 2 recent passport sized photos [4.5×3.5cm]
  4. Original Expired Pakistani Passport/CNIC/NICOP with its photocopy
  5. Air ticket booking with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)

 

Issuing of passport to a minor (below 12 years)

Separate passports are issued for children and infants. Minors are issued with a passport holding 1 year validity.

 

Requirements

  1. Original birth certificate attested by MOFA, Malta
  2. New passport form signed by parent
  3. 4 identical passport-sized photos [5×3.5cm]
  4. Photocopy of parents’ marriage certificate
  5. Photocopy of both parents’ Maltese Residence Cards
  6. Photocopy of both parents’ Pakistani passports
  7. Photocopy of both parents’ Pakistani CNICs

 

If the child is unable to sign, a thumb impression is required in the signature box.
