The visa application forms should be filled in entirely, in a legible and accurate way, and must be submitted together with the original passport. Suppression of information is against the law and will lead to the denial of visa. Applications which are incomplete will not be processed.

Passports must have validity for a minimum of 6 months prior to the departure for Pakistan. The duration of visa validation commences from the date of issue, and cannot be converted to any other type of visa. Parents are allowed to sign for visa applications on behalf of their minor children.

TYPES OF VISAS AVAILABLE

 

Visit Visa

This is granted to those intending to visit family members or friends in Pakistan.  It is issued for a validity period of 3 months, with a visit of 30 days maximum stay.

 

Requirements

  4. Copy of ticket/provisional bookings of flight and accommodation
  5. Employment letter or bank statement in case of unemployment

Tourist Visa

This is granted to those intending to visit Pakistan as tourists.  It is issued for a validity period of 3 months, with a visit of 30 days maximum stay.

Business Visa

This is granted to those intending to conduct business or commercial activities in Pakistan on behalf of a company based outside Pakistan.  A single entry visa can be issued for a validity period of 3 months, with a visit of 30 days maximum stay.  Whilst a multiple entry can be issued for a validity period of 1 year, with a visit of 90 days maximum stay on each visit.

Conference Visa

This is granted to those intending to visit Pakistan to attend a conference.

Employment Visa

Those who intend on working in Pakistan should apply for an Employment Visa from the Board Of Investment (BOI). This visa is granted to applicants who intend to work with a Pakistani venture in Pakistan. The Embassy may only provide a visa possessing limited validity. A further extension might then be obtained from the concerned department in Pakistan.

 

Spouses and children are granted co-terminus entry visas upon request.

 

Requirements

  4. Proof of residence throughout stay in Pakistan
  5. Copy of Medical Insurance

Together with the application, the applicant is required to furnish a letter from the employee, confirming employment with the firm. The letter should also state that the employer assumes responsibility for any financial obligations and income tax liabilities that the applicant may encounter.

Medical Visa

These are granted in cases where a foreigner needs to seek medical treatment in an established and recognised treatment centre in Pakistan. The applicant is required to have an assured financial standing and should be supported with relevant medical documents. The validity of visa will run up to one year or any period of treatment whichever is less.

  5. Proof of Health Insurance
  6. Preliminary medical advice from local doctor advising for special medical treatment abroad

Missionary Visa

This is granted to those intending to visit Pakistan to do missionary work.  These cases will be sent to the Pakistan Interior Ministry, reinforced by appropriate documents, for due process.

 

Requirements

Requirements in three original copies

  1. Entirely filled in application form
  2. Copy of passport
  3. Computer Proforma
  4. Letter from a Missionary Organization certifying that the applicant is a bonafide member of that society/organizing concerned and that society etc takes full responsibility for his/her maintenance/boarding/lodging and return journey in case repatriation from Pakistan becomes necessary.
  5. Declaration to abide by and respect the laws of Pakistan and that he/she will refrain from indulging in internal politics or religious acrimony etc. The Declaration has to be sworn before a Notary and then attested by the
  6. Bio-data for last 10 years
  7. Photostat copies of the application’s educational degree/diploma/certificate/ (with English translation if they are in any other language)
  8. Letter from the concerned institution in Pakistan inviting the missionary worker
  9. Complete details of the person being re-placed showing the exact date of final exit, and visa position at that time along with photostat copies of passport pages indicating final exit, final visa as well as the cancellation of remaining visa (in any).
  10. Employment letter or bank statement in case of unemployment
  11. Copy of ticket/provisional bookings of flight

Student Visa

On initial provision, student visas are issued for a short duration but can be extended upon presentation of a confirmed admission letter.

 

For research purposes, a detailed synopsis of the research project, countersigned by the sponsoring institution in Pakistan should also be annexed.
